Besides four own solo albums and 21 releases by The Brazz Brothers, he has contributed in over 50 album recordings with other artists. Most musicians and singers in Norway have performed one or more compositions by Jan Magne Forde. Førde's music is often inspired by traditional Norwegian music, but basically lies in the roots of jazz and popular music.
The project Mezzing was premiered in the Nidaros Cathedral in Trondheim JazzFest in 2016. The public and the press hailed the concert as one of the festival's highlight and phrases such as "majestic" and "magical" dominated the headlines. While Ila Brass Band was central during the performance in Trondheim, it was natural to choose Molde Brass Band when the project was set up for MoldeJazz. Molde Brass Band is one of the country's best and has been in the elite division of Brass Bands in thirteen of the thirty years the band has existed.
In addition Forde has put together an exciting ensemble including Henning Sommerro, who in 2016, contributed greatly in filling Molde Cathedral three times with smash hit Skruk with Vårsøg and Sondre Bratland. an Magne Førde's Mezzing may soon become a new success, but will not be presented as additional concerts as this is the festival's closing concert.
