Harald Lassen is known from indie-jazz inspired bands Pixel, Avant and hip-hop band Mopti (winner of Jazzintro 2012), as well as lyrical Duplex, where he both contributed as a composer and played saxophone reaching the depths of our hearts and souls.

Having  collaborated with musicians like Bugge Wesseltoft, Jon Christensen and Arild Andersen, he has immersed himself in their own music. In autumn 2016, Harald released his solo album Rainbow Session , a result of collaboration with Belgian LAB trio, a piano trio with Belgium's most prominent young musicians under 30. To play material from Rainbow Session in Molde, he has put together a new band, with the talented pianist Bram Le Looze joining Lassen's new quartet, which also includes Tore Flatjord on drums and percussion and Stian Andersen on bass.

When asked what inspires him, he replied 70s, impressionism - and life so far . Lassen is an open, creative and inquisitive musician who also had extended cooperation with African musicians and dancers in Kenya, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Mozambique and Uganda. Another interesting fact is that in 2013 Lassen moved to Zanzibar for three months partly to build a jazz department for young music students at the Dhow Countries Music Academy. The concert with Harald Lassen New Quartet will move in many directions within the acoustic African-American jazz tradition, and perhaps also with influences from the 70s, impressionism - and perhaps life so far.
