Volunteers

Now you can apply to be a volunteer at Moldejazz!

Do you want to experience Moldejazz from the inside? Moldejazz is a large and enjoyable circus. Without a doubt, you will see some hectic days as a volunteer, but at the same time, it is also an amazing experience. Unbelievable musical experiences, many exciting festival-friends, and useful experience from music- and festival-production are just some of the things we offer.

Moldejazz started in 1961 as a small weekend-festival, and has since then grown to become a large festival. From our day-to-day administration of approximately six people, we employ close to 800 people during the festival week.

Being a volunteer during Moldejazz is a lovely combination of good musical-experiences, new friendships and at times hard work in a hectic but inspiring setting. We receive the great international and national artists, and as many as 80.000 to 100.000 people visit the town of Molde. With this much going on, we are highly dependent on the tremendous efforts that the volunteers put in. However, despite the amount of work-hours, every one of you should also find time to enjoy the festival.

What can you expect from us?
Moldejazz commits to receive you well, and to give you the necessary training you require to do your job. We will give you a surmountable amount of work, ensuring that you have ample time to enjoy your volunteer benefits. As a volunteer, Moldejazz will pay for your insurance through our policy, and Moldejazz further commits to ensuring that all work is in adherence to Norway's strict Working Environment Act.

What does Moldejazz expect of you?
As a volunteer, you represent Moldejazz when interacting with artists, sponsors, press, audiences and the public. The festival is renowned for being one of the most intimate and friendly festivals in the world and this is the reputation that you will contribute to maintaining. We expect you to behave as a good representative, and that you leave your mark on the festival in a positive manner. With a crew this large, it is very important that everyone adheres to their work instructions and show up and assigned shifts. Even if this is unpaid, volunteer work, we ask that you respect your committee-leader/supervisor as you would in a regular job.
