Swedish pianist Bobo Stenson has been one of the cornerstones of the European jazz scene for 40 years. Through his collaboration with Jan Garbarek, one of the finest achievements in the history of modern jazz, and as long-time pianist for Charles Lloyd, he has really made his mark. He has had his own trio for the last 20 years, and, here, Stenson has tried out his ideas as both a composer and interpreter of others’ compositions. Bass player Anders Jormin has supported him for many years, and in his current trio, Jon Fält plays the drums. In all, this makes for a varied, complex and convincing sound that is among the very best in contemporary Scandinavian jazz.
