CSSE is a rare and unique force on the Norwegian jazz scene, a hard-hitting energy bomb with nerve and intensity and a carefully chosen repertoire that spans pretty much all of the last 100 years of musical history. Influenced by the gypsy tradition, French chansons, a bit of opera and traditional American jazz – all mixed with circus music and a touch of madness for good measure – the six relatively young musicians capture audiences' admiration and enthusiasm. When you also consider that the same six gentlemen sing incredibly well in harmony and are masters of their respective instruments, you get an idea of the explosive energy of this band. The experience can be described quite simply as an example of extraordinary musical communication between the stage and the audience, which only real jazz musicians can achieve!
