| STAR VOCALISTS COMING TO MOLDE INTERNATIONAL JAZZ FESTIVAL

Three of today’s greatest vocalists, Angelique Kidjo, Dianne Reeves and Lizz Wright, have joined forces in Sing the Truth! and will embark on a short European tour this summer. Molde International Jazz Festival is delighted to be presenting Sing the Truth! in Bjørnsonhuset on 19 July.
Sing the Truth! is a tribute to some of the most influential singers of jazz, folk, blues, R&B and gospel in history. The collaboration takes its inspiration from the music of Miriam Makeba, Abbey Lincoln and Odetta, though other musical influences from Billie Holiday to Lauryn Hill are also evident.
Sing the Truth! started out as a tribute concert to Nina Simone, but the three vocalists found so much inspiration in the collaboration that they wanted to do more – and that is something festival-goers in Molde will be glad they did, because Sing the Truth! is a group with a message, passion and soul. The diverse backgrounds of the trio results in a broad span of musical genres: Kidjo from African music, Reeves from mainstream jazz and Wright from blues and gospel.
Sing the Truth! has been a huge success with both audiences and critics in the USA and everywhere else they have toured. Now it’s Norway’s turn and with an exclusive performance at Molde International Jazz Festival.
