Despite their young age, the boys in Red Hot are beginning to be veterans of the Molde International Jazz Festival, with their name on the line-up for the fourth consecutive year. The members of this rhythm and blues band, which was formed while the boys studied music at Molde Upper Secondary School, are constantly evolving, and their instrumental ability, solid beat and sheer joy of playing make them a natural choice for the party scene in Alexandraparken park. Since Red Hot won the Union Blues Cup at the Notodden Blues Festival in 2007, the band has consolidated its position as one of Norway’s most solid young bands in its genre. The band’s hard-swinging blues-inspired music is also mixed with elements of rockabilly, funk and jazz. Knut Marius Djupik’s energetic vocals and stage presence and Kristoffer Tokle’s steady drumbeat demonstrate individual performances of exceptionally high calibre. Together with the band's local ties and ‒ last but not least ‒ its extremely strong audience appeal, Red Hot can become as regular a feature at the Molde International Jazz Festival as Ytre Suløens Jass-Ensemble.
