Ylvis (17:00)

If you've visited YouTube during the last year you're probably one of the hundreds of millions that saw the Ylvis' super-hit "The Fox". With their fresh music-show, the Ylvis-brothers  capture the essence of popular culture in a successive way. With parodies of everything from R&B to hip-hop through reggaeton, all extraordinarily well produced and played, the Ylvis-brothers surely must be some of the most skilled satirists today.

So good are they, in fact, that it becomes hard to separate the songs and videos from contemporary pop-music that ever threatens to tilt over into self-parody.

With their unique mix of skillful musicians, well choreographed animals and fantastic stage-presence, Ylvis is spot on for the entire family. Where whimsical foxes captivate the young ones, the texts and references are more than enough to keep mom and dad entertained - and to get the teenagers squealing with excitement.

About the world premiere in [Oslo, editors notice] Spektrum late February VGs Stein Østbø wrote that "the mixture of [a] clumsy school-play, genius parody, ironic wit and rhytmich punch is rare, Norwegian stock. If there ever has been anything like it."

Sivert Høyem (19:30)

Sivert Høyem, who just released his new album, should be a familiar name to most people. Even now, after Madrugada, he's one of the truly great artists in music-Norway. Since the Madrugada-debut Industrial Silence, released in 2009, he's released no less than 10 albums. The latest one to date, titled Endless Love, was released early March and has, not surprisingly I might add, received multiple 5-out-of-6-scores in the national press.

Endless Love is one of Høyem's strongest aIbums if we are to believe Dagbladets Torgrim Øyre: "Clearly some of the best material Sivert has lent his voice to, both as a solo-artist and as the frontman of Madrugada."

Or to quote Aftenposten: "The mix is perfect and the production manages to incorporate the more noisy elements without crowding the sound. With this [album] Sivert Høyem not only solidifies his own position, but only expands his repertoire with one of this years most solid albums."
