Grammy-award winning jazz with a funky groove

Brooklyn-based Snarky Puppy, with ten years and nine albums to show for, might better be described as "one of the big dogs". Earlier this year they were awarded a GRAMMY for "Best R&B group". Hints of 80's fusion, with funky grooves as heard in the 70's, and an unmistakable up-to-date and innovative sound are part of making Snarky Puppy a live-phenomena out of the ordinary.

Snarky Puppy has arisen around band leader, composer and bass-player Michael League in Trenton, Texas, and consist of a varying amount of musicians. Among the core members are several musicians working closely with artists such as Erykah Badu, Justin Timberlake and Snoop Dog [now Snoop Lion, editors notice]. In short we're talking about a collective of musicians consisting of extremely talented instrumentalists. As well as a tremendous live-band.

Look forward to a mix of funk, soul, jazz and untamed rhythms. In short a concert that should appeal as much to the laid-back listener as the prominent dancer.

Michael League on bass, Shaun Martin on keys, Justin Stanton on keys and trumpet, Robert "Spurt" Searight on drums, Chris Bullock on tenor saxophone, clarinet and flutes, Bill Laurance on keys, Nate Werth on percussion, Bob Lanzetti on guitar, Mark Lettieri on guitar, Chris McQueen on guitar, Mike Maher on trumpet, and Bob Reynolds on saxophone.
