Westerhus is an uncompromising guitarist, with absolute control of his instrument. He takes advantage of its most unused expressions, playing in such a style that the guitar transforms into something else. And, as such, he's a marvelous companion for Sidsel Endresen's exploratory vocals.

Endresen/Westerhus on stage aren't afraid to challenge the audience, but they don't do it without a reason - it's beautiful and fragmented, but at the same time coherent, and it's all formed in the moment.

We're familiar with Westerhus in his role as producer for Pelbo, from Puma and Nils Petter Molvær Trio, or side by side with Terje Isungset or Erik Hegdal and Eldbjørg Raknes.

About Didymoi Dreams Dagbladet's Terje Mosnes wrote that  "the listening experience is, quite appropriately, like a trip through a dream-soundscape. Where Endresen moves in her own vocal language using the vocal chords as a sound-generator, Westerhus operates in his instrumental universe with his guitar as the main sound generator. (...) If comprehensible words set to conventional scales are not part of the duos expression, the inquiry is still generous because it invites to so many associations in its sonic diversity."

Endresen and Westerhus plan to hit the studio to record new material in august. This is one of several concerts under the direction of this years Artist in Residence, Sidsel Endresen.
