Movits!

World-class swing-hop from Sweden

Movits have a genre of their own. Swing hop, a mix of classic jazz and up-to-date hip-hop. Since the beginning in 2007, the brothers Johan "Jivin" and "mördar-Anders" Rensfelt, together with saxophone-player Jocke "One-Take" Nilsson, have made their homeland erupt into spontaneous dancing. And before that the trio was also active, then in a more soft-spoken, acoustic format under the name Planeten Jorden. Since then the name has, as mentioned, become Movits, and they've released three albums.

Huvudet Bland Molnen, which was released in 2013, continues the mix of jazz and hip-hop, but the production has gotten punchier, the expression more electric, and the energy more intense.

Over the years Movits has become more and more of an international phenomena. They've performed on the American talk-show The Colbert Report; a performance which led to Movits gaining a faithful audience, and they've also toured throughout the United States as well as Europe. And now they're ready to perform at Moldejazz.
