A personal piece for tuba, vocals and big-band

Tubaist Kristoffer Lo isn't afraid to stake out his own course. With electronics and an alternative treatment the tubas true, sometimes dark, sometimes happy self is to be brought forth into the light, or should we say sound. We know him true the explosively sensual trio Pelbo, which has taken Scandinavia by storm over the past few years. As part of indie-pop group Highasakite which, by the way, perform at Teateret Vårt, Plassen on Saturday, July 19th, Lo has contributed to one of 2014's so far most acclaimed record releases.

Last year Lo received the «jazZtipend 2013» award, and it's a direct consequence of that which now brings him back to Moldejazz. And he brings with him no less than a fresh composition. In the yet-to-be-named piece Lo promises a personal and trans-boundary experience with all the possibilities of a hand-picked big-band.
- "An award such as this gives me the possibility to spend time well, write music the way I want to hear it, and with each individual musician in mind" says the tubaist to Moldejazz.

In addition to Trondheim Jazzorkester we're promised vocal performances by, among others, Highasakite-colleague Ingrid Helene Håvik. In short you have every reason to have high expectations of Kristoffer Lo's composition of Trondheim Jazzorkester. What we've so far seen promises an airy, slightly melancholy and, last but not least, melodic piece. Something to look forward to for sure!

While waiting you're more than welcome to enjoy Kristoffer Lo and Trondheim Jazzorkester's rendition of Howard Blakes "Walking in the Air".
