Heartfelt interpretations by Blix

Bass-clarinet-player and composer Håvard Lund has, for many years, drifted freely, easily and playfully between classical music, jazz and so-called world-music - both as a performer and as a composer. With his interpretations of the compositions of our old left-wing politician and psalm-writer Elias Blix, he reaches for an even grander musical expression where old psalms meet orchestration and a sound Blix himself could hardly have imagined. All, fittingly enough, in the setting of Molde Cathedral.

Where psalm-writing meets improvisation, the lineup consists of widely renowned world-musicians. All purveyors with a background in strict traditions, but at the same time musicians who gather inspiration from expressions in other cultures than their own. Unni Løvlid is one of Norwegian folk-musics freshest tradition-developers, Sunanda Sharma is one of India's foremost young vocalists, Jai Shankar is one of India's premier tabla-players. The Pakistani flute-player Akmal Quadri is among the most prominent in his homeland, while Svante Henryson is a leading star within modern, western cello-improvisation. Lund has formerly been part of, among other collaborations, Trygve Seim Ensemble, Transjoik, and Farmers Market.
