Norah Jones at Moldejazz 2012!
Nine times Grammy award winner NORAH JONES to play Moldejazz.
Despite her young age, Norah Jones has won nine Grammys and a number of other prestigious awards, and sold more than 40 million records. Billboard Magazine ranks her as the most important jazz artist of the decade (2000-2009). More artists will be announced shortly, but we are already in for an amazing Friday evening in Molde in July. Norah Jones is a beloved pianist, guitarist and singer with fans way beyond the jazz genre. Her music is characterised as a combination of jazz, soul, country and folk. Norah has explained that she became obsessed with jazz as a 12-year-old, and she later majored in jazz piano at university. She loves the music of Bill Evans and Billie Holiday and considers Willie Nelson her big idol. Norah Jones debuted in 2002 with the album Come Away With Me and has so far released five albums. A new album entitled Little Broken Hearts, produced by Danger Mouse, is set to be released this spring. Norah Jones was born in Brooklyn, New York, but grew up in Texas. She is the daughter of the world-renowned Indian sitar player Ravi Shankar.
