The band fronted by Donald Fagen and Walter Becker have for thirtyfive years been critically acclaimed for their performances both on record and stage. Their music and arrangements has the rare combination of being intricate and challenging and at the same time accessible for a broad range of listeners. That's why their appeal is just as high among popfans as rock- and jazzfans. Songs as ”Do it Again”, ”Showbiz Kids”, ”Rikki Don’t Lose That Number”, ”Black Friday”, ”Peg”, ”Deacon Blues” and ”Babylon Sisters” are all classics that stand amazingly well against time. Larry Carlton, Phil Woods, Joe Sample og Wayne Shorter are just a few of the famous musicians that have contributed on Steely Dans recordings. </span><br rf="true"><span> </span><br rf="true"><span><span><img src="http://www.moldejazz.no/2007/site/img/3691/Elvis_Costello.gif" width="100" align="left"></span>Elvis Costello and New Orleans-soulicon Allen Toussaint worked together in the 1980s. They met again in 2005 doing a support-concert for the victims of the Katarina-disaster. Their "reunion" also resulted in an album named ”The River in Reverse”. It contains seven Toussaint-classics, five new songs written by the two of them and the titletrack written by Costello.<br><br></span><span>It's now thirty years since Elvis Costellos albumdebut ”My Aim is True”. Over the years he has marked himself as one of Britain's most distinguished artists with more than thirty albums in various musical styles.</span><br rf="true"><span><br>Allen Toussaint is one of the main exponents of New Orleans-soul, R&B. In the 60s and 70s he wrote a lot of hits for artists like Lee Dorsey and Solomon Burke. Toussaint is also a great pianist and distinct vocalist. On stage together with Costello and Toussanit you will find Costellos band The Imposters as well as The Cresent City Horns and guitarist Anthony Brown.
